On July 3, 2025, at SOS Children’s Village Ho Chi Minh City, ISUZU Vietnam Co., Ltd. (IVC) held a Scholarship Award Ceremony for children currently living and studying at the Village.
This meaningful initiative is part of the company’s annual CSR project, “ISUZU Heart & Smile.” This year, the program holds even greater significance as it takes place in celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary — a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and a reaffirmation of ISUZU Vietnam’s long-term commitment to the community.
Connecting love – A journey from the heart
For many years, ISUZU Vietnam has consistently supported the children at the SOS Children’s Village with a desire to share and spread love. In 2025, the scholarship award activity was connected to the internal online running event Step Up – Move Up: Run for “EM”. The running event is not only a sporting platform for employees and their families but also a humanitarian bridge, gathering resources for the scholarship fund.
With the message “One step – One future” the running event has attracted over 200 participants and reached a total accumulated 25,000 km for all activities, equivalent to 100 million VND raised for the meaningful scholarship.
A heartfelt ceremony
The ceremony was warm and full of emotion, starting with delightful performances by the children of the Village. Their clear voices and innocent eyes truly touched the hearts of everyone in attendance.

At the ceremony, Mr. Wataru Nakano, General Director of ISUZU Vietnam, shared insights into the company’s 30-year journey of development, emphasizing that ISUZU Vietnam’s business philosophy always prioritizes social responsibility, besides the product and service quality. Mr. Nakano also offered words of encouragement to the children, seeing them as the “seeds” for the future, and expressed pride in the spirit of solidarity and sharing demonstrated by all ISUZU Vietnam employees through the fundraising run.

In response, a representative from the SOS Children’s Village expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for ISUZU Vietnam’s stable connection over the years. They highlighted that ISUZU Vietnam’s support extends beyond financial contributions, providing moral encouragement that empowers the children in their education and growth.
The ceremony also welcomed outstanding ISUZU Vietnam employees who actively participated in the run, as well as the “mothers” and “aunts” from the Village, the heroes who silently care for and nurture the children amidst economic challenges.

Planting hope – Fostering the future
After the scholarship awarding, the ISUZU Vietnam delegation toured the Village, listening to heartwarming stories from the children and their “mothers” and “aunts”. These everyday shared stories deepened the humanitarian spirit of the event, illustrating a connection that goes beyond mere assistance—it’s a true heart-to-heart bond.

This scholarship initiative is also a significant mark in ISUZU Vietnam’s ongoing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy. We believe that every practical action and every kind gesture contributes to creating positive and sustainable changes for society.
30 years – A journey of harmonious and sustainable development
As ISUZU Vietnam reaches the 30-year milestone of formation and development, we are even more aware of the necessity of harmonious development between business operations and social responsibility. The scholarship ceremony at the SOS Children’s Village is not just a meaningful milestone in that journey, but also a testament to the spirit of “giving is forever” that we uphold.
Moving forward, ISUZU Vietnam will continue to intensify its ESG activities, spread humanitarian values to all employees, and extend a helping hand to even more disadvantaged circumstances, so that every step taken today can pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.
