THE 1ST DRIVER SKILL CONTEST: TAKUMI – MASTER OF DRIVERS

On September 21, 2024, at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (Ho Chi Minh City), Isuzu Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Isuzu Vietnam) successfully organized the first Driver Skill Contest. With the theme “Takumi – Master of Drivers”, this contest not only celebrates their skills but also emphasizes their critical role in powering our economy and ensuring the smooth flow of goods across the nation. 

The Contest gathered 60 contestants forming 30 teams, representing the excellent Vietnam’s driver community. Besides, the Contest has attracted significant interest from sponsors and media alike, with major brands such as Bridgestone, JX Nippon Oil, PVOIL Trans, Vietmap supporting this initiative. 

In the opening ceremony, Ms. Trinh Thu Ha Deputy Chief of Office of National Traffic Safety Committee shared This contest is not only about skill testing, it is also a platform where drivers can spread the spirit of responsibility and awareness of safety throughout the community. Ms. Trinh Thu Ha also hoped that Isuzu would continue growing this initiative as the commitment to fostering a responsible and safe driving culture and encouraging drivers to take pride in their roles as protectors of road safety.

In the opening speech, Mr. Wataru Nakano – General Director of Isuzu Vietnam firstly expressed Isuzu Vietnam’s sympathies to those affected by Typhoon Yagi. “In times of such hardship, we stand in solidarity with the communities impacted, and we are committed to organizing support activities in the near future to help with recovery efforts”, he shared. Regarding the purpose of the Contest, Mr. Wataru Nakano expressed: “At Isuzu, we are deeply committed to the driver community and the transportation industry. Professional driving is critical for both safety and economic growth. Today’s event serves to highlight the importance of safe driving and the significant contributions that drivers make every day”

In this event, Isuzu Vietnam specially delivered a video to honor the Vietnamese driver community. 

The Contest featured a series of challenges designed to simulate real-world driving scenarios, testing participants’ skills in safety inspections, maneuvering through tight spaces, and responding to unexpected obstacles. The Contest was judged by a panel of experienced professionals, ensuring fairness and objectivity throughout the competition. 

After a day of intense and thrilling competition, the Contest took place successfully with the final results as follows:  

– First prize: VÕ VĂN TÌNH & TRẦN CÔNG HẬU – GIAO HÀNG TIẾT KIỆM 

– Second prize: NGUYỄN TRÍ CƯỜNG & VÕ VĂN SANG – THÀNH AN GROUP 

– Third prize: ĐINH NGỌC LONG & TRƯƠNG VĂN MINH QUÂN – NIPPON EXPRESS VIETNAM 

First prize: VÕ VĂN TÌNH & TRẦN CÔNG HẬU – GIAO HÀNG TIẾT KIỆM 

Second prize: NGUYỄN TRÍ CƯỜNG & VÕ VĂN SANG – THÀNH AN GROUP 

Third prize: ĐINH NGỌC LONG & TRƯƠNG VĂN MINH QUÂN – NIPPON EXPRESS VIETNAM  

Isuzu Vietnam hopes to extend the Driver Skill Contest to include more participants from different regions. This is Isuzu Vietnam’s effort to chase after the commitment towards honoring the crucial role of drivers and promoting road safety.
